DO NOT ADD BURIALS TO THIS CEMETERY - IT IS NO LONGER ACTIVE. PUT THEM IN THE FAUBION CEMETERY AT BALTIMORE.
coming out of Newport take Hwy 32l from Newport heading towards Greeneville. Turn right on Good Hope Road and go about 2 miles. The landmark to look for on the left is the French Broad Baptist Church. Once you reach there it is just a little over a 1/2 mile to the home of Robert Reece, the first white house past the church on the right. The cemetery is located behind his home up the hill by this big barn.
Not to be confused with the Faubion Cemetery in the Baltimore Community.
This cemetery is no longer active.
I personally cleaned this cemetery in 2002 and recorded all known tombstones. There are many others buried here with only sandstone stumps. A large gated iron fence surrounds at least 2 unmarked graves. There may be tombstones buried there but I wasn't able to dig for them.
The Cocke County Cemetery Books have many errors on this cemetery dates and all the information here is what I have corrected and recorded. It has been erroneously named by Duay O'Neil in the cemetery books of Cocke County.
