The location, of this small place, is in Plum Creek Township, of Armstrong County and is right on the Indiana County Line. It is an old Family Cemetery of about 15 to 20 graves and is no longer active and has not been for a good number of years. Currently, in Aug. of 2012, it is totally grown over and a good percentage of the markers are either illegible or under the brush. The best time to visit this place would be in the early spring or the very late fall. Be sure to bring bug spray and tick repellant.
Driving directions:
In Elderton, PA, from the intersection of U.S. Route 422 and State Route 210, drive east on 422 a distance of 0.2 miles to the intersection of 422 and Dutch Run Road, on the left. At this intersection, turn hard left onto Dutch Run Rd and drive a distance of 3.7 miles to the intersection of Gress Road. Bear left onto Gress Road and drive to the old maintenance building, a distance of 0.1 miles. At this point, Gress Road turns into Barks Hill Road and this building and road are directly on the Armstrong/Indiana county line.
Park, off to the right side, in the entrance to a small drive way, of the maintenance building. Be careful not to block the gas line right of way, found at the entrance to the driveway. The cemetery is directly across the road from the maintenance building driveway entrance and about 30 yards uphill, at the edge of the woods and the field.
