Founded in 1811, St. Andrews Protestant Cemetery is the oldest extant cemetery in the county of Argenteuil, Quebec. With its mature pines, hydrangea trees and picturesque views, it is also one of the most striking cemeteries in Argenteuil.
Containing approximately 2000 graves, it is the second largest Protestant cemetery in the county, surpassed in size only by Lachute Protestant Cemetery. In the past, it was referred to as Beech Ridge Cemetery (not to be confused with Beechridge Cemetery in Sainte-Clotilde). In some early church records, it is also referred to as Carillon Cemetery.
In 1999, the villages of Carillon, Saint-André-Est (St. Andrews East) and Saint-André-d’Argenteuil amalgamated to form a new municipality called Saint-André-Carillon which was then renamed Saint-André-d'Argenteuil in 2000.
