Search Crawford Cemetery:

Crawford Cemetery is located somewhere near the intersection of Hwy 501 & Tobacco Leaf Lane (on the west side of Tobacco Leaf Ln.) in Horry County, South Carolina. The exact whereabouts are unknown at this time. Search parties have combed the woods several times with no luck. There are at least 6 or more people buried there including 1 possible Confederate Soldier. The cemetery was probably started in 1866 or before with the death of David E. Crawford 1801-1865. David owned a 488 acre plantation in this area. Those known to be buried there are: David E. Crawford (land now belongs to the Holliday family) & wife Mary Jane Jordan Crawford 1810-died about 1885. A son, John D. Crawford 1850-1906 & wife, Maria Louisa Collins Crawford 1857-1907. A son, Arthur S. Crawford 1849-1923 & wife Emma Hardee Crawford 1878-1935. Also 1 son in the Civil War might be buried there: Corp. Samuel J. Crawford Co M, 10th SC Inf., CSA. This cemetery is now lost to wilderness & only exists in the hearts & minds of those who remember them (& of course on findagrave). KE
