From Rte 9, take Main Street, Cummington, MA to Plainfield Road. Plainfield Road changes to South Central Street at the Cummington/Plainfield town line. Pleasant Street is the 2nd street on the right after the town line.
From Rte 116, take South Central Street. Pleasant Street is the 2nd street on the left.
The road is paved for the first 20 feet and changes to dirt.
Proceed .3 miles to the cemetery.
PLEASE DO NOT drive over 5 miles an hour. The guinea fowl are very gregarious birds and explode out of the long grass on both sides of the road to greet your vehicle, including right in front of it and right up to the doors. They have no fear of vehicles or people. Eventually they will move. The roosters and chickens further down usually can be seen from a little distance. They will move if you stop and herd them out of the road (the coop is on the right hand side). The farm dogs are more curious than any other intent they appear to have and are quite friendly once they discover that dog biscuits and scritches are available.
The cemetery will be on your right immediately after the barn. There is no sign. There is a small knoll with no visible path up to the cemetery entrance.
Lined up on the right hand, road-side stone wall is a collection of footstones from the cemetery. Several other stones are broken, fallen down, and/or illegible.
The farm has been there since 1812. The house originally was built by William Dyer but owned by the McClouds. William Dyer subsequently purchased the property.
