There is only one interment in this cemetery, that of William Johnson. After the Civil War William allowed this site to be used as a camp for those that lost their land during the Civil War due to the fact that the men were away fighting and the women and children couldn't farm their land. William donated the 7 1/2 acres on which the church was erected to the Commissioners Court for the use of a church and school and the school was built first and was used by several denominations. The church was at first an open affair and was not closed in for a number of years. It has been replaced once and expanded to what you see today. The school was closed in about 1940 and no longer exists.
To get to this cemetery go South on US 183 from Seward Junction (intersection of SH 29 & US-183) and go east on CR-259 until you reach the Union Hall Baptist Church. Turn in and look off to the east where the fenced in cemetery is hidden from overhead view by a very large oak tree.
