The first known survey of this cemetery was done by noted genealogist Dr. Allan E. Marble on July 22, 1967. He recorded the name of the cemetery as “Evergreen Hall, West Paradise United Baptist” and assigned it an identifying number 50. He recorded the location as West Paradise.
At a later date, Genweb volunteers transcribed Dr. Marble's survey notes and made them available online at Rootsweb. At that time, the volunteers named it "Evergreen Hall, West Paradise United Baptist" but, in the cemetery index, they listed the name as “Evergreen Hall United Baptist Church”. They recorded the location as West Paradise.
Dr. Marble transcribed 60 headstones containing 96 inscriptions. The oldest identifiable stone is from 1859. This is an active cemetery, so the number of headstones is now greater than Dr. Marble’s count in 1967. He noted that the cemetery was in good condition.
DIRECTIONS: The Church and Graveyard are located on the north side of Highway 201, at Civic #5247.
