Old Bethany Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery is off highway 178 going from Liberty to Anderson. The cemetery is in the woods on left opposite mailbox off Freeman Road about 100 yards near home of Robert Evatt (deceased).

The burial information was submitted by Virginia Boggs McKnight (of Charlotte, NC) in the early 1980's. Dates are from the family bible of Miss Ruth Boggs. There is one stone that says "Isaac Newton & others buried here." Another stone tells that Old Bethany Methodist Church stood here.

There are possibly other Swords buried here as well as Isaac Willoughby Newton's brother, William B. Newton and his wife.
