NOTE: The Scottown Cemetery (Wi-30), Lawrence Co., Ohio, has been frequently informally designated as "the old Dillon Cemetery." This cemetery originated as a family cemetery plot established by the land owner, Vincent Dillon Sr., shortly after his resettlement to Windsor Twp., in the 1840s from Monroe Co., Ohio and his purchase of land which now includes the current cemetery. It is believed the initial burial in this cemetery was likely John Dillon, father of Vincent, who died during the initial couple of years following the Dillon family resettlement from Monroe Co. Eventually children and grandchildren of Vincent and Hannah (Jackson) Dillon and their family members were buried here as well as local friends and neighbors of the Dillon family. At least 48 individuals, but likely more, have been interred in this cemetery. Two known readings conducted perhaps some fifty years apart have produced conflicting results with markers from the initial reading now missing and several additional markers identifying older burials now having appeared. 1973 is the most recent confirmed interment in this cemetery.

At about the time of the death of Vincent Dillon Sr in 1892, this property was deeded to the Gibson M. E. Chapel in Scottown of which Vincent Dillon Sr had been a founding member.

To locate the Scottown Cemetery on a current Lawrence Co. road map, take unpaved county road (T-81) off SR 217. T-81 is approximately 1.5 miles northeast of the Scottown Post Office and is located in Section 13 of Windsor Twp. This cemetery is on private property.
