This cemetery is located in Grays Knob, Kentucky about 3.5 miles south of Harlan, off of Highway 421. From Harlan, take Hwy 421 past the Harlan Appalachian Regional Healthcare Hospital to where Pine Branch Rd. (CR-1205U) is on the left, and Grays Branch Rd. (CR-1205V) is on the right. Turn right onto Grays Branch Rd. (CR-1205V), crossing a bridge. After crossing the bridge, veer left. Continue on Grays Branch Rd., along the Cumberland River, going past a construction company yard (Mountain Supply). Cross the railroad tracks, and bear to the far right at the “Y,” onto Grays Knob Mine Rd. (CR-1205A5), a gravel road. Take Grays Knob Mine Rd. about 300 feet to Grays Knob Cemetery Rd. (CR-1205A6) on the left. You may want to park your vehicle at this point, and continue on foot if you do not have 4-wheel drive. Grays Knob Cemetery Rd. ascends a hill about 40 feet, and then veers to the right and left, with the cemetery between the two roads. The road on the left dead-ends, and the road on the right ends at a closed gate separating the cemetery from a mining company’s land. Having a walking stick will help you maneuver the hilly terrain.
