On September 1, 1998, Scott Stanley Forde {1961-1998] was buried according to his wishes in a newly created two acre family cemetery named 'Scott's Grove.' It was named after Elk Horn Grove in Shelby Co., Iowa where Scott grew up and played as a child. The family cemetery has been duly deeded and filed as a cemetery at the County Clerk's office in Hempstead, TX, Waller County. A great deal of work is being done to create a park-like setting in the cemetery and adjoins the family ranch. Scott died after a five month battle with leukemia. He leaves a wife and two children, and an incredibly large number of persons that recognized his unique goodness and deeply mourn his loss.

The cemetery currently contains 5 graves, dated from 1998 to the present. The size is 1.9 acres.
Directions: From the Hempstead intersection of Hwy 290 and Hwy 6, go north on Hwy-6 1.7 miles to Kelley Rd. Go west on Kelley Rd, .25 miles, over the railroad tracks to Howth Road. Go north on Howth Rd .25 miles. The cemetery gate is on the west side, with a large "Scott's Grove" archway entrance gate. Address: 25349 Old Howth Rd., Hempstead, Texas 77445.
