On Victoria Street, in the town of Navasota, at the home of D.R. Parsons, at the intersection of Victoria Street and HWY 3090 tombstones can be found on the property. The markers were found under the house when the Parsons purchased the property. They were placed on the front lawn and an iron picket fence erected to enclose them. The original place the markers were first placed are unknown.

The story goes that the home was originally occupied by Charles Rowland. In the year 1902 he worked as a sections foreman for the International Great Northern Railroad. He was in charge of building a branch line from Navasota to Madisonville, which required him to pass thru the corner of an old cemetery.

Afraid he would be put in jail, Rowland took the headstones and hid them under his house where they were later discovered by the Parsons.

The Odd Fellows Cemetery in Anderson, TX could be the original cemetery for these markers, Several family members are buried there.
