The cemetery is located on a side road off the Mallow Road, approx. 1.5km east of Millstreet.
It is divided into three sections.
There are two public areas, available to all.
First is this cemetery.
Another, an older area, is at
Drishane Cemetery (Old Section)
at the northern end of the main cemetery.
This area is very overgrown.
There is a separate area on the eastern side which is reserved for members of a religious order, the Sisters of The Infant Jesus.

A full survey of the cemetery was carried out on Saturday 5th July 2014, during which all headstones were photographed.
Memorials, with photographs, have been created for all those buried in the cemetery, whose headstones were legible.
Approx. 25 headstones were illegible, due to erosion and/or dirt and discolouration.
Approx. 40 plots have no headstone.
