The history of the Church of St. John the Evangelist dates to 1789, and is a reflection of the history of our country, from Revolutionary times to the present. Among those buried in the churchyard is Aaron Chew, a local Revolutionary War hero. The churchyard is on the National Historic Register.
The churchyard is open to the public at all times.
