This cemetery is located on the original land owned by William Rose Smith, purchased from the federal government in 1825 and 1826. This is the location of his family cemetery. All those in the cemetery (estimated to be 15-20 people) are part of the William Rose Smith family. The land was sold upon his death in 1839. Cemetery is on private property. Only two stones remain as of Spring 2009. This cemetery is also known as Guilliams or Old Blakesburg.
The cemetery is listed in the Cemetery and Burial Grounds Registry of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and in the State Historical Architectural and Archaeological Research Database (SHAARD) with Cemetery Record Number CR-67-132 (Blakesburg / Conner / Moss / Guilliam).
Indiana Cemetery Locations, Volume 3, published by the Indiana Genealogical Society (April 2007), gives the primary cemetery name as Connor Cemetery with an alternate name of Moss Cemetery. Separately, it lists Old Blakesburg Cemetery with an alternate name of Guilliams Cemetery.
