Located 15N06W (Curran Township), section 35, NW quarter - inner 80 acres. The exact site of this cemetery is not known since the cemetery is extinct, with the removal of the bodies to Oak Ridge cemetery.
Early Settlers of Sangamon County gives a biography of Barnard Van Deren, born May 22, 1789 in Kentucky and dying July 6, 1835 on the farm where he settled less than a month after arrival in Sangamon county. He settled in what is now Curran township on Lick Creek.
The plat map of 1858 indicates [the area] as belonging to Vanderin, Johnson & Others.
Oak Ridge Cemetery records show removal of bodies "from Lick Creek" to Oak Ridge in 1871:
