This early 19th to 20th century cemetery contains many members of the Allen, Chambers, and Harris families. These mostly preserved and elaborate slate stones are nestled in dense periwinkle, in a small stand of young pines, situated on a flat by the old creek. There are also several unmarked graves and several unmarked field stones present as well. A very large, ancient cedar tree is in the middle. The old homestead sat on the hill above the creek, until just prior to 1900.
This property, among others, was once owned by Capt William Allen (1692-1752), prior to the formation of Buckingham County in 1761, and was willed to his son George Hunt Allen, buried here. The Chambers and Harris families intertwined via marriage.
