An old cemetery that is located on Bristol Road, 1.2 mile south of the junction with Main Street in Damariscotta. The cemetery is on the east side of Bristol Road, between junctions of Stonewyk Lane/Brickyard Cove Lane and Pine Ridge Rd/Fire Lane 3.
The cemetery land was originally a pasture for the farm that belonged to Benjamin Day, for whom the house across the street was built in 1754. The fifth owner of the property was Samuel Woodward who transferred ownership of his pasture to the Walpole Meeting House for use as a cemetery. At the time, Damariscotta was part of Walpole Township in Bristol. Over the years, the cemetery has also been known as Walpole Cemetery and Huston Cemetery.
