The mausoleum is located in the heart of Stadthagen (Schaumburg County), a city south-west of Hanover in the German State of Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony). This 7-corner building can only be accessed through St.-Martini-Church. It was build as the final resting place for the counts of Schaumburg-Lippe, with burials from 1625-1918. When it became fully occupied the Schaumburg dynasty built the Mausoleum im Schlosspark Bückeburg. Designed by Giovanni Maria Nosseni the mausoleum was created in Praque from 1609-1625 and then (in pieces) shipped to this location. It took another two years to complete the insides.
