While actually in the town of Dane, this cemetery lies in the corner of four townships. The first log church and its abandoned cemetery are in the Twp. of Springfield, section 6, and so has the oldest burials. The second stone church (and this cemetery) are in Twp. Dane, sct. 31. The third (wood frame) church was in Twp. Roxbury, sct. 36 but is no longer standing, and didn't have a cemetery.
The death register used to cross-reference several memorials posted here is from the church register of the St. John's Roxbury Congregation; it is located at the St. Paul's and St. John's of Marxville and Berry Church Parsonage in Mazomanie. Two other registers do exist but are limited as to interment dates and legibility. Also referenced was a cemetery transcription done several years ago by Virgil Matz. Until more recent times, burials were done in order of death. There seems to be a small children's section to the north (near the highway), as well exist several unmarked graves to the west (rear). The cemetery is fairly well-kept. [info courtesy Virgil Matz]
