From East Brewton travel on Hwy-29 eastward to the Conecuh River (about 15 miles). Cross the McGowin Bridge and go another ¼ mile. Turn right onto CR-53. After about ½ mile the CR-53 makes a sharp turn to the right. Continue on CR-53 to Bristlecone Road. Turn left onto Bristlecone. This is a hard clay road that is well maintained. At about ½ mile there will be a red iron gate on the right. If the gate is closed, simply park on the roadway and walk about 200 yards up the rise to a power line clearing. The cemetery is at the end of this road and directly across the clearing. This old and abandoned cemetery is surrounded by a rail fence. Inside the fenced area the graves will be scattered among trees and underbrush. There is one small section around which a wrought iron fence is erected. This area is shown on the photograph opposite.
If driving from Andalusia, take Hwy-29 to Escambia County. At the edge of the Conecuh National Forest will be the Conecuh River. Before crossing the McGowin Bridge, look for CR-53 on the left. Once on CR-53, follow the instructions above to Bristlecone Road.
