This small historic cemetery does not typically accept new burials. The Masonic Cemetery in nearby Chappell Hill, is sometimes erroneously referred to as "Brenham Masonic Cemetery (in) Chappell Hill" in recent obituaries.

Also called the Yellow Fever Cemetery, Brenham's citizens buried many loved ones here in the latter part of 1867 as an epidemic swept through the area."

The cemetery, which holds at least 122 graves, has been heavily vandalized in the past. Many of the graves are now unmarked or have had the tombstones pushed from their original locations.

The cemetery is nestled in a residential neighborhood NW of Brenham High School. A new gate and a historical marker were placed in 2002. From Highway 36 N (aka N. Park St.) turn on Duprie Dr., then left onto Old Masonic Rd.; the cemetery is on the east side of the street.
