NOTE: Sayles #78. South side of a cart path behind a barn. Farm (Esek Brown Farm) is about 1/2 mile south of Pine Orchard Schoolhouse Rd. Cemetery is just east of Smith & Sayles Reservoir. Stone wall on north & east sides. There is an old orchard to the north.
Grace G Tillinghast Oct 25, 1930. (Vol 13, page 28). "Copy of some of the inscriptions on stones in the old burial ground on the Esek Brown Farm, which was a part of his grandfather Chad Brown's estate. Esek, Elisha, Chad, Obadiah,John Chad.
It is situated in Chepachet, RI and now owned by Curtis Hopkins (1930). The yard is about one-half mile from the house which was built by Sayles Brown,son of Esek, and quite close to a still older house which was demolished years ago. The cellar hole - a splendid piece of masonry is still remaining and was built by Elisha Browne, father of Esek. In this house, Mary Sayles, wife of Esek and great, great, granddaughter of Roger Williams died."
