Originally known as St. Luke's United Church of Christ. St. Luke's Reformed Church was organized on December 31, 1871 with seventeen members. The organization took place at the home of Alexander Peeler under the supervision of Reverend Peter M. Trexler. Alexander Peeler donated three acres of land on which the church currently stands. The congregation worshipped under a brush arbor for tow years for economic reasons. In 1872 and 1873 the charter members erected the main section of the white frame church building. Dedication services occurred the fifth Sunday in June 1873. In 1936, a wing was erected on the left side of the building, and during the summer of 1954, a wing providing modern utilities and educational equipment was attached to the right side of the church. A completely new building and renovation program was begun in July 1957.
