This cemetery was used by George Nicholas Tapscott, a Buckingham County CSA Veteran, and his family during the late 19th- 20th centuries. Other surnames buried here are Moseley, Baber, and Freeland. The cemetery stood across the road from the house, in the front yard. This part of the road and the homestead are no longer present.
George Tapscott acquired his land on Sharps Creek in the mid 19th century, adding to it from his wife's Scruggs land. He bordered Baber, Thomas, Moseley, among others. These Tapscotts owned several pieces of property along present day Sharps Creek Rd throughout the late 19th century, and some is still owned by Tapscott today.
