Honsaker Johnson Cemetery

Off the Smithfield-Masontown Road, just west of Woodside, turn onto Diamond Road; travel downhill to a flat area; the cemetery is on the left and back up the hill in the brush. Individuals for whom identifiable markers have been found are noted with an asterisk (*) after their year of death.
According to accounts written in the Robert McClelland book, "Masontown and Its Environ," p 13: "A very old family burial ground can still be visited (1962) on the Diamond farm near Woodside. The earliest markers were hewn from sandstone, and most of the inscriptions are either obliterated or undecipherable. Here, on a plot about fifty feet in either dimension, are buried member of at least five families: Johnson, Honsaker, Reed, Bare, and Knott. Many of the later burials were made in the 1860's or the early 1870's, the last in 1888 or 1889."
From the intersection of Main Street (Rt 166) and Church Street in Masontown, go east on Church Street 0.3 miles and bear right on Smithfield Road. Go 2.2 miles and bear right on Diamond Moldovan Road. Go 0.3 miles and the cemetery is up the hill in the brush.
