Nirvana Park is not a true cemetery but is the burial place of Henry Feldman. Feldman was a businessman in the early years of Cordova and owned a hardware store. He transformed a knob of land adjacent to the Old Eyak Cemetery into a recreational park and swimming area. Feldman gathered burled tree trunks and fashioned them into fences, gazebos and bridges and Nirvana Park became a popular place to picnic and swim. It fell into disrepair after Feldman's death and the burled wood has long since rotted away. The City maintains a picnic area in the Park and Nirvana Spit is still a popular place to swim.
