The Carpenter Burial Ground was established in 1816 and is a private family burial ground in North Attleborough, Massachusetts. The land originated from the Carpenter Land Grant of 1646. Land Deeds recorded in 1768 and 1806 passed ownership from Stephen Carpenter to Asa Carpenter and ultimately to John Carpenter. In 1859, the original Burial Ground Covenant was recorded in the Bristol County Registry of Deeds. The covenant states that the land is to be used as a burial ground and for no other use or purpose forever. The burial ground is for the descendants of John Carpenter and immediate families and for no other persons whatsoever. John Carpenter descendants shall forever have free access to the premises as a burial ground and a right to protect and preserve the place of burial forever. Deeds recorded in 1919 and 1962 expanded the land to preserve for future John Carpenter generations. The Carpenter Burial Ground is private and managed by appointed family trustees.
