German Catholic immigrants from Russia came to this area of Saskatchewan and established Saint Henry Roman Catholic parish in about 1906. They built a small church on SW 5-38-25 W3 in the Rural Municipality of Grass Lake, on land donated by Peter Leibel. A few years later, a railroad was built several miles south of the church. This resulted in the community of Denzil organizing 4 miles east of the church with the village of Salvador forming about 6 miles southeast. As these communities grew, each would build new churches and cemeteries. Sacred Heart Roman Catholic parish in Denzil was formed in about 1913, and a new church and cemetery for Saint Henry parish was built in Salvador. The original Saint Henry Roman Catholic Church was closed in about 1923. The cemetery fell into disrepair and was eventually ploughed over. A commemorative plaque and cairn has been erected on the cemetery site. There are no remaining headstones or other grave markers.
