Directions: Follow Idaho Highway 28 about 60 miles passed Mud Lake, Idaho going North-West. Turn left on Gilmore Road just over Gilmore Summit. After about one mile Gilmore road becomes National Forest road 002. Precede up the hill about 0.2 of a mile towards Meadow Lake Campground, taking the second small dirt road to the left (very sharp turn). Continue about 300 ft to the entrance of the cemetery. If NF-002 makes a sharp left curve you have passed the cemetery road.
Information on plaques at entrance of cemetery: The information on the Gilmore Cemetery, as compiled & researched by Julia I. Randolph, which is found in her book "This Quiet Ground". She has been kind enough to let me reprint this information for the Gilmore Cemetery Sign, for all to enjoy. (Dan Lerwill 9-16-2006)
This is an old cemetery set in a forest with very few headstones. The last burial was in July 2002. Jan 17-2011 Snowshoeing @ the Gilmore cemetery . The crosses are almost covered now. X D.L. X Snowshoeing @ the Gilmore Cemetery Jan. 17 2012. Checking to see if the Bull Moose have done anymore damage. They like to rub the trees &, they kill a few every winter. Hope they don't decide to rub on my signs & Dick's Memorial behind his grave.
