From a local history book, "South Edmonton Saga" pages 434-435 as follows:

"DREWES Families (from available church and land records with additional information from descendants of former acquaintances, compiled by Mrs. Helen Hiebner)
It is difficult to determine the number of families or the relationship of the Drewes families that lived in the South Edmonton area many years ago.
While living in the area the Drewes families had attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church where they had a number of their children baptized. Also two Drewes marriages were recorded in the records. (one of which is not related to this family)
"The earliest available statistic is that on May 24, 1894 Henry Drewes purchased the SW26-T51-R24-W4, which was former Papaschase Reserve land in the Mill Creek district. He received the patent for it on November 8, 1907. His land was later sold to Sam Tober on December 16, 1914.
Prior to the turn of the century three trustees of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Henry Drewes, Michael Werner and Michael Kruger, purchased forty acres of NE21-T51-R24-W4, which was also former Papaschase Reserve land. They received the patent on the land on July 24, 1902. Later thirty-eight acres were sold to Christian Treichel and the remaining land was transferred to the Lutheran Church on November 13, 1907. Today those two acres are the site of the Ellerslie Lutheran cemetery which is shared by St. Pauls Lutheran Church at Ellerslie and Trinity Lutheran Church in Edmonton."--Mrs. Helen Hiebner.

See also page 137 of the same book, there is a list of people that served as trustees of St. Paul's.
