The earliest burial is 1835. The early members of the church were followers of the Harmony Society of Economy and followed the leader of the Harmonist, George Rapp, from Germany to Economy, Pa. in the 1800s. After they seperated from the Harmonists, they relocated to Phillipsburg (now Monaca).
Since most of the church members were from Germany, many of the early gravestones are written in German with "Geboren" for Born, "Gestorben" for Died and "Hefrau von" for Wife of.
The cemetery appears to be no longer in use. The grass is cut but many of the gravestones are surrounded by a multitude of overgrown weeds.
The cemetery is located on Rt 18 (Brodhead Road) where it becomes Pennsylvania Ave. as Rt. 18 enters the downtown area of Monaca. There is a large sign on the right hand side of the road (right after the train tressle) identifying the cemetery. The entrance to the cemetery is on Rt. 18; however street parking is about a block away in back of the cemetery.
