The first known survey of this cemetery was done by noted genealogist Dr. Allan E. Marble on May 30, 1969. Per his usual procedure, he did not give the cemetery a name but instead assigned it an identifying number. For this cemetery, the number was 89. He recorded the location as Clementsvale.
At a later date, Genweb volunteers transcribed Dr. Marble's survey notes and made them available online at Rootsweb. At that time, the volunteers named it " Clementsvale Cemetery" but, in the cemetery index, they listed the name simply as "Clementsvale". They cited the location as Clementsvale.
Dr. Marble transcribed 465 headstones containing 915 inscriptions. The oldest identifiable stone is from 1828. This is an active cemetery, so the number of headstones is greater now. At the time of his survey in 1969, Dr. Marble noted that the headstones were in good condition.
DIRECTIONS: This large cemetery is located on the east side of Clementsport Road at Civic #1321. It is fenced with pillars at the entrance.
