The Robbins Cemetery, the second oldest burial ground in Lexington, was probably begun as a family burial plot by Stephen Robbins (1758-1847). He and his son, Eli, were of great influence in the development of the village of East Lexington, now represented by the East Lexington Historic District.
The cemetery was established in 1792. In 1976 there were approximately 20 headstones left. The earliest death date is 1792 while the most recent is 1881.
The Massachusetts Historical Commission refers to this cemetery in MACRIS as LEX.803.
