This church cemetery is located in Elberfeld in Greer Township (W half of the NW quadrant of Section 20 Township 4S Range 9W) west of the railroad tracks near the water tower on the south side of North Street about 200 feet east of its intersection with 1st Street. The first burial in the cemetery occurred in 1873 and the last in 1934. The Northview Cemetery was opened in 1917 to replace this cemetery. This cemetery was associated with the New Jerusalem Evangelical United Brethren Church (now the New Jerusalem United Methodist Church) on the southwest corner of the intersection of 1st Street and W Walnut Street.
Indiana Cemetery Locations, Volume 3, published by the Indiana Genealogical Society (April 2007), lists the cemetery twice, once as Albright Cemetery and once as the New Jerusalem Cemetery.
The cemetery is listed in the Cemetery and Burial Grounds Registry of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and in the State Historical Architectural and Archaeological Research Database (SHAARD) with Cemetery Record Number CR-87-82 (New Jerusalem).
