Bellevue was the Bossier Parish seat from 1843 until 1890. This cemetery was established about 1849 and contains the graves of some of the earliest Parish Judges, Sheriffs and other business men . It contains both White and Black burials and a private Mills and Wallace Family Cemetery that adjoins it. It is still active with burials listed after 2000.

The Parish seat was move to Benton in 1890, probably when the railroad was build going north to south through the Parish. When this occurred Bellevue slowly diminished and today not much remains.
