The first known survey of this cemetery was completed by Dr. Allan E. Marble on September 14, 1966. Per his usual custom, he did not name the cemetery but assigned it an identifying number, in this case 16, and a location, Bridgetown. Although Dr. Marble did not name this cemetery, he did make a notation that it was the "Main Cemetery in Bridgetown."

At a later date, Genweb volunteers transcribed Dr. Marble's original survey notes and made them available online at Rootsweb. At that time, the volunteers gave the cemetery the name "Bridgetown Main Cemetery" but, in the Rootsweb cemetery index, they called it "Riverside".

Dr. Marble transcribed 793 headstones in this cemetery, which he noted as being in good condition. Since this is an active cemetery, additional burials have occurred since his survey in 1966.

DIRECTIONS: The cemetery is located at the end of Chipman Avenue.
