This old cemetery lies in deep woods and is known by three names: Blue Springs Baptist Cemetery, Beasley Cemetery, and the Fox Place Cemetery.
Drive north on Hwy-41 from Brewton, or south on Hwy-41 from I-65 (Exit 77). At Hwy-40 (also known as Wallace Road), turn west toward the community of Wallace. Cross the rail tracks and continue west for another 2.32 miles to the old CC road. At the CC road turn north (right) and continue another 3/4 mile to a utility road that has a wire cable barricade (indicates hunting club lease) that must be unlocked by a hunting club member or the landowner. On this road use extreme caution as the road is not maintained and there are several terraced bumps along the way (many years ago this was farm land and a small community resided here). A landmark on the road is a low clear water stream called Head of Narrow Gap. Ford the stream and when the road divides, veer to the right and drive another 100 ft., where a seldom used trail with dense overhang is evident. Turn right here and at a distance of about 65-70 ft. is a small clearing ringed by large magnolia, oak, and holly trees. The cemetery is now clearly visible.
The burial information for this cemetery was provided by the Escambia County Historical Society, Headstones & Heritage book, published in 1972.
