The old and abandoned Filhiol - Wakins Indian Mound Cemetery is located on the top of a very old Indian mound. It is located in Ouachita Parish on Hwy. 165, just south of Fondale, LA. For many years, the cemetery and land was owned by the Filhiol family. The home lies on the banks of the Ouachita River, near Logtown School Road.

The earliest known grave is that of Louisa A. Watkins, who died in 1857. There are twelve known graves in the cemetery.

In the summer of 2006, archiologists escavated an area on the east side of the Indian mound to determine if in fact the mound was an old Indian burial site. They found, during their excavation, about seven unmarked European graves. Being unable to find any records of these remains, they were removed and then reburied in a mass grave in Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, LA in Aug. 2007.
