Lot 21, Concession 2, West Flamborough Township

In 1822, a frame chapel was built on a ledge of solid rock on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the Dundas Valley. Known as Rock Chapel, it was used by many different denominations, but mostly by Episcopalians and Wesleyan Methodists.

In 1830, the Wesleyans purchased land far enough away from the escarpment edge for a cemetery. In 1876, the congregation elected to build a new red brick church within the cemetery property. It retained the name Rock Chapel and is still in use today.

This cemetery is the burial place for several United Empire Loyalists and their descendants. It is maintained by the Rock Chapel United Church Cemetery Board and is open for burials.
