The Henry Allen Cemetery was founded in May 1890 when, Edna Ann Jones Allen buried her husband, Henry Allen (1821-1890), at the crossroads of Highways 41 and 131. They owned all of the surrounding property. When Edna Ann Jones Allen's father, Nathan Jones, died in 1900 , he was buried there also. Later, their brothers, sisters and siblings were buried there and cemetery grew . Today, the land is still owned by the direct descendants of Henry Allen (1821-1890) and the cemetery remains a private burial ground for the close family members. There have been two exceptions for close friends . It will remain private, but will continue to grow as direct family members expect to be buried there. Henry Allen (1821 - 1890) inherited some of this property from his parents, Ephraim W. Allen(1781-1868) and Nancy Ann Scriven (1786-1869). Their gravesite can be found at:
