Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church was founded in 1892, when Rev. John H. Waidelich, pastor of St. Michael's Lutheran Church of Sellersville, appointed a committee for the purpose of establishing a Lutheran church in Perkasie. The church charter was filed with the Bucks County court on November 16, 1892 by subscribers J.H. Daub, Harvey Bissey, Samuel A. Schuler, Levinus Maurer, William Pfleiger, A.A. Baum and Harrison B. Nace, all from Perkasie, and Frank Weber of East Rockhill Twp.

Charles Bissey sold to Trinity Lutheran the original part of the Trinity Cemetery (the portion south of Market Street). In 1904 Charles also sold to the church the plot of land on the north side of Market Street, adjacent to St. Stephen's Cemetery.
