Important Notes
Please note that none of the people listed at the Paulinerkirche are buried there anymore. The remains that were found were put into small coffins and, together with the rubble of the blown up church, were brought to the south of Leipzig and thrown in a sandpit.

Exceptions from this (like Johann Tetzel) are noted in the biography or in the plot section (like 'grave lost').

When noted that the Epitaph hung there, it does not necessarily mean that the person was actually buried there. It is possible that they were buried at the Old St Johns Cemetery or the Thomaskirche. Both about 5 minutes by foot away.
Even the city historians are not sure. One said a few years ago that it was possible that a person had epitaph here, and/or had their burial mass celebrated here, and was then buried somewhere else. The cities three main churches and the St Johns Cemetery were equally prestigious in this regard.
