This cemetery is located at about 24th and Pearl in Joplin. St. Mary's church was located just south of this cemetery until it was destroyed by the May 22, 2011 tornado. This cemetery is no longer used, but is kept mowed and the stones were reset. There are many unmarked graves in this cemetery and many of the old flat stones are now buried. The giant metal cross that was a part of St. Marys still stands near this cemetery.

The cemetery was heavily damaged by the May 22, 2011 tornado at Joplin, Mo. Many of the big stones were toppled from their bases and St. Marys church was destroyed. The cemetery has been restored as of June 2012. I was unable to find any evidence of graves under where the church stood, however there was a big hole near one stone near the edge of where where the school building stood. The church will be re-built elsewhere and Empire Electric is building a transformer substation just south of the cemetery. There is now a fence between the cemetery and Empire's construction.
