This cemetery used to be part of Old Tacoma Cemetery, but when the city went out of the cemetery business two funeral home brothers stepped up and purchased what is now Oakwood Hill Cemetery from the city. Old Tacoma and Oakwood Hill are seperated by a cement wall topped with a wire fence. The Tacoma Mausoluem is on the edge of the cemetery grounds and is the first thing you see when driving up to the cemetery.
