From Frisco City (Monroe County) Alabama, follow Hwy-21 to CR-10 (county road). Drive west on CR-10 a distance of 3.7 miles to Shiloh Road. Turn right onto Shiloh and drive in a northerly direction to its junction with Bear Creek Road at the Pleasant Hill Church (1.2 miles). Veer right onto the hard clay Bear Creek Road and drive in a north-easterly direction for another mile or so to Manistee Rd (hard clay). There is no marker for Manistee Road, but here Bear Creek Road makes a turn toward the east. A brief distance beyond will be a utility road to the left. At the utility road is a barricade and a small roadside sign pointing to the Polar Bridge Cemetery.
Older maps of Monroe County show that a church building known as Macedonia, once stood near the cemetery. That is no longer the case. Today, a modern-day structure known as Macedonia stands on Bear Creek Road. It has not been possible to verify that the Bear Creek Road Macedonia is the same as that shown on the older county maps. Further, some older topographical maps show that the area was once known as Polar Ridge, but at some point the designation “Ridge” became “Bridge” and the name Polar Bridge stands today.
