The Pine Hill Cemetery is Sherborn's newest burial ground. It was dedicated in 1852. Its winding roads, beautiful landscaping, and rugged terrain place it squarely with the rural or romantic cemetery traditions which began with the establishment of Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge in 1832. Pine Hill's landscaping is credited to Sherborn's resident doctor, Oliver Everett, and to Captain Jacob Pratt. Pine Hill became town controlled in 1888 (as did all the cemeteries within Sherborn's boundaries). The cemetery was expanded in 1912 and 1925, and continues to be used for the interment of Sherborn's residents.

Within the Sanger plot are the remains of the towns first three ministers, which were removed from the Central Cemetery to Pine Hill in 1857 by Colonel Sanger.

The Massachusetts Historical Commission refers to this cemetery in MACRIS as SHR.800 Pine Hill Cemetery.

This cemetery is referred to as GR2 Pine Hill Cemetery in the "Vital Records of Sherborn Massachusetts to the end of the year 1849."
