Cocoa City Cemetery

Cocoa, Brevard County, Florida, USA
Memorials 453 added (96% photographed)

This cemetery, also called the Cocoa Cemetery, is a very old one in which many of Cocoa's earliest pioneers are interred. One of the earliest marked graves is that of Robert Dixon (1813-1875). He came with his wife, several sons and one daughter from Kentucky about 1870. This family owned the cemetery originally, but it's now maintained by the City of Cocoa. It's situated on about two acres of land above street level, has oaks and pines, is rectangular in shape and is well-kept. The cemetery is located on the southwest corner of the US Hwy 1 and Peachtree Street intersection, about one block north of SR 520 (King Street). The front entrance faces US Hwy 1 and has a paved road that runs west from the highway. There's another entrance on Peachtree Street.
