Beautiful Magnolia Cemetery is the final resting place of the citizens of Collierville and its neighboring towns. It is a non-sectarian burying ground, situated one mile south of the town of Collierville between the Holly Springs and Quinn's Mill roads, and is a distance of twenty-five miles southeast of the City of Memphis.

This cemetery was organized and chartered in the spring of 1878 with the following charter members; J. T. Biggs; W. H. Irby; J. K. Waddy; and Drs. P. A. Perkins and W. D. Summers. A tract of 57 acres was purchased from W. J. Brown in 1878 (Brown Family Cemetery). However, 35 acres of this original tract of land
was sold at a later date to Dr. A. S. Stratton.

Within the gates of Magnolia Cemetery there are an estimated over 1,500 persons buried. A white stone fence was erected on two sides of the cemetery.
