Love and Charity Cemetery

This cemetery about a half mile south of the New Orleans Airport terminal is one of a group of three cemeteries that have been declared historic landmarks by the Kenner City Council and are kept well maintained and beautifully fenced along the street. The Belle Grove Cemetery is adjacent. A plaque says that the cemetery was established by the Love and Charity Benevolent Society, a group of African-American men and women, and that the present site was purchased in 1897.
